Sagas importantes en el cine

                                   SAGAS IMPORTANTES EN EL CINE:

Throughout the history of cinema there have been great sagas of films that have marked a before and after, here we will tell you which are the most important.

  • Rocky (1976-2018):
Don't say "sports drama", say 'Rocky'. Yes, 'Rocky V' is terrible, and 'Rocky III' has been somewhat forgotten, but the great moments that the underrated saga starring Sylvester Stallone has given us are to frame, including its fantastic late sequel Rocky Balboa. And in case we are left with more desire for boxing epics, beyond the main series, we have the two fantastic spin-offs focused on Adonis Creed.

  • Star Wars (1977-2019):
A fantastic saga of 9 films released over the decades, this saga revolutionized special effects in cinema, after premiering the 3 main films in 1977, 3 prequels were released in 2000 and to continue the saga they released 3 sequels in the 2017, and if you have more desire for star wars there are stories outside the main saga but that also count for the saga, such as the mandalorian or rogue one
  • El Padrino (1972-1990):
What am I going to tell you that has not already been said about this trio of jewels. You may be one of those who think that The Godfather Part 3 is a disgrace within the Corleone film saga, but if you belong to that sector of viewers, do not worry, because you still have two masterpieces to rediscover again and again while we attend a master class in narrative, directing, photography, acting... Faced with such wonder, one can only kneel and give thanks to Coppola.
  • Back to the Future (1985-1990):
Speaking of classics from the eighties and nineties, we couldn't ignore the Back to the Future trilogy; a collection of entertainment of the highest quality with a cast that exuded charisma through the pores, an exquisite direction in each of its installments and a domain of narrative worthy of study in film schools. A round saga even in its moments of delirium in a western key.

  • Jurassic Park (1993-2022):
The first time I saw Jurassic Park it was very, very difficult to keep my jaw in place (even today it is still difficult). Steven Spielberg has us accustomed to burying ourselves under tons of what is colloquially known as "movie magic", but what King Midas achieved in 1993 was something unrepeatable. The Lost World and Jurassic Park 3 (the latter by Joe Johnston) maintain enough level so that the complete trilogy deserves to appear in this selection. Too bad about Jurassic World...
  • Mision Imposible (1996-2018):

In 1996, Brian de Palma rescued the 1980s series 'Mission: Impossible' from oblivion in a exemplary thriller that, according to the director himself, made no sense in turning it into a franchise. Twenty-two years later, the adventures of Ethan Hunt are in their sixth installment, and have become a benchmark in action cinema thanks to some set-piece sequences at the forefront of the genre and an almost suicidal Tom Cruise turned into the best special effect we can imagine. Fun and adrenaline in its purest form in a saga that evolves and grows.

  • Matrix (1999-2021):
I open the anti-missile shield, because 'Matrix Reloaded' and 'Matrix Revolutions' are not usually very well received by the film buff, but I am unable not to defend the Neo saga tooth and nail, which started in 1999 hand in hand by the Wachowski sisters, Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Ann Moss and Laurence Fishburne. And the recent addition to the Matrix Resurrections saga, which personally is not to my liking.
  • X-Men (2000-2019):
The heavy passage of the X Patrol on the big screen is the closest thing to a roller coaster that we can imagine in terms of quality. The first two 'X-Men' are a benchmark for superhero cinema as we conceive it today, only surpassed by Matthew Vaughn's brilliant First Generation and the splendid Logan. However, the other side of the coin leaves us with titles like The Last Stand or X-Men: Wolverine Origins, which are better forgotten. Luckily, there is the Merc with a Mouth balancing the scales and saving the ballot with the two hilarious Deadpool.

  • The Lord of The Rings (2001-2014):
In this mention I will speak personally, it seems to me the best saga of films that has been made, at first it seemed impossible to go from black on white paper to the big screen, but Peter Jackson was in charge of this work, and he did not did so badly, in 2001 The Fellowship of the Ring was released, a fantastic film that introduces the universe that Tolkien created in 1937, in 2002 The Two Towers was released with 3 hours of duration, here it shows in the battle of the abyss of Helm, which is a very good film (Besides, it won 2 Oscars) and we come to the last film, The Return of the King, which is for me the best film in history, awarded with 11 Oscars, it becomes the most award-winning (but tied with Titanic and Ben-Hur), none of us will forget the battles of the Pelindor fields or the Black Gate, there are even books that expand the saga such as the Silmarilion or The Fall of Gondolin. And let's not forget the Hobbit trilogy, which is not at the level of the original trilogy but the last of the 3 (The Battle Of The Five Armies) is very good.

  • UCM (2008-2022):
It may not be understood by the acronyms, but we are talking about the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which may be the best structured universe of movies and series in all of history, there may be films that are not very well liked, such as Iron Man 3 or Shan-Chi, but there are movies that are worth seeing for their quality, having Disney bought Marvel, the quality of the movies is not the same, but Endgame or Spiderman No Way Home are wonderful, now Disney premieres series with a high level on Disney+ such as Falcon and the Winter Soldier or Moon Knight.
